Middle of Nowhere

Shot at Erlaufboden in Austria, a tiny village in the heart of the mountains, in the middle of nowhere.

Nature Bridge

Dusk at Nature Bridge in Tehran, Iran. Shot in June 2015. Prints can be purchased here.

Stranded

Shot at Frankfurt International Airport. An airport that truly reminds of this great quote from Douglas Adams: “It can hardly be a coincidence that no language on Earth has ever produced the expression ‘As pretty as an airport.’ Airports are ugly. Some are very ugly. Some attain a degree of ugliness that can only be…

Ascension

Mount Damavand (5,610 meters tall) in the Alborz mountain range, north of Tehran, Iran. This is a composition of two shots, one from Mount Damavand and one from a village nearby.

Dawn at the Ekbatan Complex in Tehran, Iran. The mountain creating the gigantic light shaft is mount Damavand, which is 5610 meters tall. Prints can be purchased here.

The Seabus station at Lonsdale Quay, in North Vancouver, Canada.

Stormy Road

Shot near Jasper, Canada, in May 2014. Those of you interested in the post-processing performed on this image can check out the short video below. Feedback is welcome! And if it’s positive, I’ll continue doing this for future photos. I suggest watching in 1080p and fullscreen. Prints can be purchased here.

Fjords of Cloud

Weather inversion in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. This is when sea level land is completely immersed in fog, but tall buildings and higher land enjoy the sun. Shot at SFU’s Burnaby campus.

Mystical

Moose Lake in British Columbia, Canada. This is a heavily processed shot. From my point of view, the goal in landscape photography is not necessarily to imitate the natural look of the scene, or what the eyes see. I sometimes try to augment the scene into a visually stunning yet still somehow believable image. I…

Skyward

The W.A.C Bennet Library in SFU’s Burnaby campus. For those of you interested in the technical aspects, this is a blend of 6 exposures; five of them for the foreground and to diminish the overexposure from the lights in the walkway, and one for the stars.

Illusive

A little mind bender this time. Totally out of my comfort zone. A futile attempt at creating art!

Canadian Frost

A frozen Maligne Lake in Alberta, Canada. Shot in May 2014. The view itself was pretty colourless apart from the trees, so I slightly boosted the blues to get these colder tones.
