Downtown Vancouver glittering under the setting sun, winter 2013.
Deep Silver
There is no wound that time cannot heal, except for the ones it creates.
Ripples
Taken from the Oberilzmühle dam (Stausee Oberilzmühle) in Passau, Germany, looking north. This is a combination of 6 shots, leading to close to 160 degrees of viewing angle.
Spectacular Green
Taken from the Kahlenberg hill at the north west of Vienna, Austria.
Lonely Cabin
Capilano Lake, located near North Vancouver, British Columbia, on a cool winter dusk.
Dark and Bright 9: Extreme Ways
The Donauufer highway in Vienna, Austria.
Divine
Love it when light shafts form at sunset like that. The mountains with their varying shades of haziness made the scene all the more beautiful. Took this somewhere between Kashan and Qom in Iran, on my way to Tehran. Can’t remember the exact location though.
Trapped in Time
For a smooth playback, you need to wait for the animation to load completely (6.1 MB).
After the Storm
Took this on my way to Tehran (Iran) from Isfahan, near the city of Kashan, in May 2013.
Dark and Bright 8: Vancouver at Dusk
Downtown Vancouver at dusk on a beautiful Winter evening in February 2013. This is 4 photos stitched together to achieve the extra wide angle. This photo of mine was voted up in interfacelift.com.
Porto at Sunset
An evening in Porto in early October 2012. I took this from the Ponte Dom Luis I bridge. The bells of Porto’s many historic churches ringing and the seagulls signing make the sunsets at this old part of the city absolutely enchanting.

This is Killarney Lake located in Bowen Island, BC. The picture above is supposed to be a smooth animated loop. If it’s not animated, please try a different browser. The First Day of Spring
I took this at Boundary Road which is the boundary between Vancouver and Burnaby in BC, facing west. The music below is a piece named The First Day of Spring by Mehdi, which I first heard 7 years ago. Both melancholy and hopeful, the music fits the name so well.
Luna
The moon on a windy night in Burnaby, BC. “Memories” by Clint Mansell on Moon – Original Soundtrack
Up There
Took this on my way to Amsterdam, a few minutes after the plane took off from YVR Airport. To the left are West and North Vancouver, the body of water running through the middle is Burrard Inlet, to the right of it are Vancouver and Burnaby. In the distance are Coquitlam, Surrey, and other smaller…
Memory Lane
A rainy night and a long road ahead. Reminded me of a poem by Tolkien. “The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with weary feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where…
Dusk at the Pier
A quiet cloudy evening in Cates Park on the shores of Burrard Inlet in North Vancouver. I took this facing south towards Burnaby and the Chevron oil plant.
Dark and Bright 7: Skyline
Skyline of Vancouver as seen from Stanley Park. This is two photos stitched together, each with a 1 minute shutter time.
Frozen Moonlight
This is Lost Lagoon, dreamy, misty, frozen, and only lit by a pale moonlight. There were no lights in a 400 meter radius of that spot, so even this dark exposure needed 30 seconds and some post processing on 200 ISO and 5.6 aperture.
The music is of course none other than Beethoven’s extraordinary out-of-this-world Moonlight Sonata.
Dark and Bright 6: Melancholy
Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver on a cold cloudy Winter night. Taken from the Lions Gate Bridge. “Graphic Processing Unit” on World of Goo – Original Soundtrack
